Culture and Sport Glasgow and Culture and Sport Glasgow (Trading) CIC are the new companies established to deliver cultural, leisure and outdoor recreation services for the city of Glasgow.

The decision to establish these new companies followed an extensive review of the most efficient and effective structure for the delivery of cultural and leisure services.

The review recommended the creation of a company limited by guarantee with charitable status (the charitable company) and a trading subsidiary (Community Interest Company).

The proposal was approved by Glasgow City Council in February 2007 and both companies commence trading from1 April 2007.  The buildings and collections will remain in the ownership of Glasgow City Council.

Culture and Sport Glasgow reports to a Board of 11 Directors, which comprises six elected members, four independent Directors and the Chief  Executive of Culture and Sport Glasgow.  Find out more about the Culture and Sport Glasgow Board.

The trading company reports to a Board of seven Directors, three of whom also sit on the Board of Culture and Sport Glasgow.
