All you need to know about becoming a member of Glasgow Libraries

You can complete an application form at any of our libraries

or

register online and on your first visit take along appropriate ID (see below) to your chosen library. Staff will be happy to provide details of our range of services.

Please bring 1 form of ID to the library on your first visit to confirm your membership.  Some of the ID documents that can be used are:

• driving licence
• council tax payment form
• rent book
• a recent electricity, gas or telephone bill
• any addressed item which has been received through the post

You will then be issued with a library card which can be used straight away.

If you do not have identification with you when you visit the library, you can still register for Temporary Membership.  This entitles you to borrow 2 books only (not CDs or DVDs).  On production of ID at your next library visit, you will receive full access to the library and full borrowing of items as detailed below.

As a library member your card entitles you to use any Glasgow library.  You can also borrow from one library and return the items to any other.  Using your card number and pincode you can log in to one of the PCs in our Learning Centres.
