Glasgow is Scotland's sporting capital!  Voted European Capital of Sport in 2003, Glasgow is renowned for the quality of its sporting facilities from world class events to grass roots development and elite athlete coaching programmes.

 

The Glasgow Club is Scotland's largest health and fitness club operating over 20 centres throughout the city with over 20,000 members. There are world class facilities such as The National Badminton Centre at Scotstoun and the stunning 50-metre pool at Glasgow Club Tollcross. Glasgow's commitment to sport and leisure is unrivalled. 

 

The city also attracts the very best in sporting events from 2007's UEFA Cup Final to televised international athletics and gymnastics and not forgetting the city's two great mass participation sporting events - the Great Scottish Run in September and the Ignis Asset Management Women's 10K in May. The events attracted over 30,000 entrants in 2008.

 

Glasgow is also at the forefront of sports development, running coaching programmes across a wide range of sports - from football to swimming and badminton to kabaddi!
