Volunteers needed for a 'Reindeer Round-up'

Fancy chasing reindeer for a chance to win a month's free membership? Andrew Boothman, health and fitness co-ordinator at Springburn leisure centre told us about the next event he and his team have in store for anyone who wants to join in the fun.

"We're looking for volunteers for our next challenge. It will take us across Scandinavia and into Lapland rounding up Santa’s reindeer in time to deliver presents on Christmas Eve.  Our route is 5,000km (scaled down to 500km on our map) starting in Finland and taking us through Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Lapland collecting the reindeer as we go."

"You can use any of the gym machines to track down the reindeer and we will move our sleigh each time someone covers a distance.  So in this event we will all be working as a team."

"We will start from Helsinki on 1 November aiming to finish back in Santa’s house by Christmas Eve and we'll have a prize draw for anyone who takes part."
