Voters' rolls and Valuation Rolls

 

Archives and Special Collections holds historical voters' rolls and valuation rolls for Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

  • voters' rolls (or electoral registers) list the names of all those eligible to vote in local and general elections
  • valuation rolls list the owners and the rateable value of commercial and domestic properties and the names and ooccupations of tenants; since 1988, only commercial properties have been listed 

Our collections cover a wide geographical area including:

    • voters' rolls: 1832-1914, 1918-1939, 1945-present day
    • valuation rolls: 1913-1989
