Revenue Accountant

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will manage a team of 7 with responsibility for period end accounts, variance analysis and day to day financial management.  You will have extensive dealings with operations managers to facilitate process reviews and budget preparation, and to give significant input to the year end process.  A full or part qualified accountant, with staff management, management financial accounting experience, you will be able to clearly demonstrate your own contributions to previous finance functions and the direct benefits gained from this.  Whilst having the ability to work at a details level in terms of accounts production you must also be able to see the bigger picture and contribute at a higher level.

In partnership with Netball Scotland, Glasgow Netball Association and the University of Glasgow, Glasgow City Council is investing in the future stars of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, with the creation of a Glasgow based team that will compete in the UK’s Elite Netball League. It is envisaged that the Super League team will mostly comprise of current, former and future members of the Scottish National Squad. The creation of the Glasgow Franchise Team will directly support Netball Scotland’s progress towards the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Culture and Sport Glasgow will lead on the delivery of the project and is looking for a Project Officer who will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the Franchise programme. You will have experience of managing multi-agency partnerships, as well as excellent organisational and budget management skills. Knowledge and experience of working in Sports Development is required, as the project will act as a catalyst for the development of the sport in Glasgow.
